Why do I need the app for my company?

I created this app from my experience as a military physician during the pandemic. We needed a way for screening prior to coming to work in order to prevent spread with in the work place. There are four ways to prevent COVID-19 spread with in the workplace or within a school. Non-pharmacological interventions (NPIs): handwashing, social distancing, masking and cleaning, daily screening, contact tracing and testing. Most businesses are now easily following all recommended NPIs. However, daily screening provides the largest decrease of risk of spread. If you do not have symptomatic employees at work or employees who have been exposed to COVID-19 then you will significantly decrease your risk. Contact tracing can be performed internally by taking a quick course and finally testing has a place for symptomatic or exposed individuals. Therefore, every business needs a simple way to screen and record screenings.

Is this HIPAA compliant?

Yes, all questions are formatted from the CDC for employers. Employers never see the answers to the employee’s questions only if they passed or failed screenings.

How does the app work?

This is a daily screening app for employees to use prior to entering the workplace. It is simple and allows for record of screenings and gives employees an easy way to report concerns for exposure or symptoms. They login every morning prior to entering the workplace. Their screening is recorded with in the app. The manager/HR department has a different version of the app which shows employees screenings. The manager version will also show no screenings in 24 hours and will give push notifications if someone screens positive. Mangers can also add, remove employees and make someone into a manager role from there staff version as well.

Is this easy to implement?

Absolutely! We wanted to create a simple way for companies to perform daily screening. Once you sign up you will be provided two codes. One for your employees and one for your managers. Each individual uses the code to create their own unique login. Simple as that!

What happens if someone screens positive?

If your employee screens positive, they are directed to contact a physician/healthcare provider and their HR department. There is a premium version of the app for companies in Texas where telemedicine triage of positive cases is included in the app through Blue Ocean’s private practice.

How can I access employee data?

Managers can download data in a CVS file from the website.
